Frequently asked questions
What the Career Profile is for, what the AI will and will not do, what things cost, and what happens to your data.
The product
What is a Career Profile?
It is the structured version of your CV: your roles, dates, achievements, skills and qualifications, each one showing which part of your uploaded document it came from. You review it, correct anything that is wrong, and confirm it.
It exists so a tailored CV has something to be true about. Every line of a generated CV has to trace back to a claim in a profile you confirmed — so the profile is the boundary of what can ever be said on your behalf.
Will the AI invent skills I do not have?
No, and it is worth saying how that is enforced rather than just promising it.
After the model writes, every claim in the draft is checked back against your confirmed Career Profile — mechanically, not by asking another model whether it looks right. Figures are checked against the specific claim they came from, so a 25% increase cannot become 40%. Anything that does not resolve gets one bounded attempt at repair, and if it still does not resolve the CV is refused and you are not charged.
The gaps in your match report stay gaps. A skill is never added because an advert asks for it.
Can I change the wording it produces?
Yes. Every line is editable and your files are rebuilt when you save. Employers, job titles, dates and qualifications are not editable there — they come from your Career Profile and are changed there, so an edit to a CV cannot quietly alter your history.
Where a line has been pushed hard, will I know?
Yes. Where the rewrite is substantially stronger than what you wrote — a stronger verb, an added intensifier, a line that has grown well beyond the original — it is marked for you to look at. It never blocks anything; it is there so you can decide whether it is a sentence you would say out loud in an interview.
Pricing
Is the match report free?
Yes. You can run up to 50 a day at no cost. It tells you which of an advert’s requirements your profile supports and which it does not, with the claim behind each match — before you decide whether to spend anything.
What does a tailored CV cost?
£2.99 for the CV, and £1.49 more if you want a cover letter with it. One published price — it does not vary with the length of your CV or the complexity of the advert, and you see the exact figure on screen before you confirm.
Is there a subscription?
No. You top up a wallet and spend from it. Nothing renews, nothing expires, and there is no monthly fee.
What if a generation fails?
The money is reserved when it starts and only taken when a CV is delivered. If anything goes wrong — including our own check refusing a CV we could not fully verify — the reservation is released in full and you are not charged.
The documents
What formats do I get?
Four: PDF, Word (.docx), HTML and plain text. All four are built from the same structured document rather than converted from one another, which is where formatting damage usually comes from.
Will it get through an applicant tracking system?
It is built to. One column, standard headings, no tables, no text boxes, no images, no headers or footers carrying content. There is nowhere in the document model to put the things that break a parser, so it is a property of the format rather than a setting that can be switched off.
Nobody can promise a specific system will parse a specific file — there are hundreds of them and they do not publish their rules. What we can say is that the document avoids every construct that is known to cause trouble.
Is there a photo, or my date of birth?
No, and there is no way to add one. UK CV convention leaves them off, and they are the two fields most likely to introduce bias before anybody reads a word.
Your data
What happens to the file I upload?
We read the text out of it and then delete the original file — within seconds, not days. The extracted text is kept, because every claim in your Career Profile points back into it; that is what makes provenance checkable rather than asserted.
The reading is done by ordinary software, with no AI involved. A CV that is a scan or built from images has no text in it to read, and rather than guess we say so and ask for a version exported from your word processor.
Can I delete everything?
You can erase your account, and it happens immediately rather than being scheduled. That removes your Career Profile, your extracted CV text, your job descriptions, your match reports and your generated documents.
Two things survive, and we would rather tell you now. Financial records are kept for six years because UK accounting law requires it, and the log of administrative actions is kept because an audit trail somebody can erase is not an audit trail. Both are attached to an anonymised account row that carries no name, no email address and no content, and cannot be signed into.
Do you train AI models on my CV?
We train nothing. Writing a tailored CV does send selected content to a model provider — that is unavoidable in a product that writes — and the provider is a named processor under a data processing agreement rather than an anonymous endpoint.
Where is my data kept?
In storage locked to the EU jurisdiction — the database, the uploaded text and the generated documents. Documents sit in a private bucket with no public or signed URLs; every download re-checks that the session asking owns the file.
